Israeli troops shot dead seven Palestinian protesters and wounded at least 200 along the Israel-Gaza border in resumed clashes between Palestinian demonstrators and Israeli forces today.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry, 1070 Palestinian protesters have been wounded, 293 of whom by Israeli military gunfire.

The Israel Defense Forces Spokesman said 20,000 Palestinians are rioting in five locations throughout the Gaza Strip, with demonstrators hurling stones and firebombs at the border fence. The military said it has thwarted dozens of attempts by protesters to illegally cross the border into Israel.

The clashes come a week after similar demonstrations led to violence in which Israeli forces killed 19 Palestinians in the deadliest day since a 2014 war.
