U.S., Director General of the Israel Ministry of Defense, Major General Eyal Zamir held meetings with the US Department of Defence and Department of State leadership in Washington yesterday. The Minister said that the discussions highlighted the close cooperation between Israel and the United States since the beginning of the ongoing war.
The discussions were also focused on plans for force build-up in the upcoming multi-year strategy. This includes the acquisition of advanced platforms and capabilities to maintain the Israel Defence Force’s qualitative military edge and readiness for diverse scenarios. The Israel Minister said that this approach integrates lessons learned from the war into strategies for obtaining military equipment.
Major General Zamir also addressed the current situation in Gaza, the ongoing conflict with the Houthis, and countering the Iranian aggression in West Asia. While meeting the executives of major American defence industries including Lockheed Martin and Boeing, the minister discussed existing agreements as well as the Israel Defence Ministry’s plan to advance new agreements for the procurement of military armaments and advanced equipments.
