Iran has offered gas to India at 2.95 dollar per mmBtu (Million British Thermal Units) for urea plant at Chabahar port and India is negotiating the price. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi this afternoon, Road Transport and Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari said India will make big investment in Iran to manufacture urea. He said it will help in reducing the price of soil nutrient.
Talking about the development of ports, Mr Gadkari said, the condition of ports and Shipping Corporation of India has improved to some extent.
He said, government will take further efforts to bring substantial improvement in the sector. He asked all Port chairpersons to benchmark ports with international best practices.
The Minister said his ministry has also decided to use 200 Mega Watt green power for ports to benefit nine ports.
