Leading sports experts, consultants and Olympians will take part in the three -day long International Sports Managment Conference being held in New Delhi from Thursday to mark the 60th Anniversary of the Lakshmibai National Institute of Sport (LNIPE)
Over 170 researchers will present their studies during the conference which will also attended by several present and former Olympian,Dronacharya and Dhyanchand Awardees,
Talking to media persons Vice Chacellor of LNIPE Dilip Kumar Dureha, said the purpose to hold this International conference is to prepare and develop India’s specific National Physical Fitness Programme and schemes which will have research based norms to spot best talent at the grassroots level.
Dr Dureha the conference will try to evolve a transparent system through which Talent is identified, nurtured and systematically exposed to training methodologies that are India centric.
Training the Trainers and Experts for Sports Coaching and creating competent and effective Sports Managers is the need of the hour. This responsibility has to be shared by all stakeholders of sports and Government. It is high time the blame game is called off and action needs to be consistent and continuous. The Khelo India Programme is an initiative the right direction. We must wait and invest on these young guns to roar and win laurels for India.
Prof. Dureha urged the media to look beyond Cricket saying “India has Talent but we must have faith in them.”
The Opening day panel discussions will feature Sports Franchisee Owners like Hemant Dua (CEO Delhi Daredevils) and Ashish Shah (CEO Delhi Dynamos). Hockey Olympians Zafar Iqbal Mr. Jagbir Singh,. Dronacharya Awardee A.K Bansal Avnish Yadav (Arjuna Awardee), Mr. Sanjay Gautam, Ms. Divya Singh Ms. Prashanti Singh Ms. Akansha Singh Mrs. Pratima Sharma (Basketball Player).
Patrick McGowan and Jay Bains (University of Victoria, Vancouver),, Michael Bar-Eli (Professor, Ben-Gurion University, Israel and Javier Cabrera Penata (Spain) will also be part of the discussions and lectures..
Sports Minister Rajvardhan Singh Rathore will be the chief guest on the concluding day of the conference.
