The Centre will send an inter-ministerial team to Assam to take stock of damage caused by flood. Talking to media persons in Guwahati, yesterday Minister for Development of North Eastern Region( DoNER) Dr. Jitendra Singh that an amount of Rs 207 crores will be released soon to Assam under the State Disaster Relief Fund which was otherwise supposed to be given in December.

He said that the Centre will extend all helps to Assam. He asked the state government to prepare a memorandum on damages occurred due to flood .Dr. Singh said , if need more funds will be given following the assessment of the inter-ministerial team. He further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is personally monitoring the flood situation. Meanwhile, as the flood situation improves nearly 1 lakh 50 thousand people have returned home from relief camps.
