Indian companies are reaping significant benefits at the ongoing Paper Arabia 2023 exhibition in Dubai. With thirty companies participating in the India Pavilion, mostly from the MSME sector, the exact turnover figures will be announced at the conclusion of the event tomorrow. The exhibition is supported by the Market Access Initiative (MAI) Scheme of the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, with the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry(PHDCCI) acting as the coordinating agency for Indian stakeholders.

Rakesh Kumar Sangrai, Senior Secretary – International Exhibitions at the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that a handful of companies have secured business MoUs through Paper Arabia, indicating promising business prospects for Indian companies in Dubai.

The India Pavilion at Paper Arabia 2023 was inaugurated on May 16, 2023, featuring 30 Indian companies showcasing paper, paper machinery and equipment, paper chemicals, tissues, and more. The inauguration was attended by Shri K Kalimuthu, Consul (Economic, Trade, and Commerce) of the Consulate General of India in Dubai.

He commended the efforts of PHDCCI and emphasized the significance of Dubai as a gateway for the GCC and MENA region, expressing the belief that such events would contribute to enhancing trade. Sheikh Hasher Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Member of Dubai’s Ruling Family and President of the Al Fajer Group, also visited the show, where he received an overview of PHDCCI’s activities and the profiles of Indian exhibitors. He expressed appreciation for the participants and assured them of his full support.

Paper Arabia is the largest and longest-running B2B paper event in the Middle East. Since its inception in 2007, it has brought together key players in paper, tissue, and paperboard manufacturing under one roof. In its 2023 edition, the show has been revamped to reflect the industry’s significant advancements, focusing on new products and innovative processes that promote sustainability, health-centric approaches, and eco-friendly business propositions.

With over 100 companies from 30 countries participating, the twelfth edition of Paper Arabia is making a comeback against the backdrop of new investments and expansions in the GCC following the post-Covid era. The paper industry has witnessed a surge of over $1.6 billion in the last two years. The event will run from May 16 to May 18, 2023, from 10 am to 6 pm.
