The Indian Army peacekeepers in UN team has thwarted looting attempts by certain armed groups in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. These groups had attempted large-scale looting of United Nations’ assets, including Indian Army operating bases and a Level III hospital. Indian Peacekeepers have ensured safety of UN personnel and property in locations of their deployment. The actions by Indian peacekeepers deployed there are strictly in accordance with UN mandate and rules of engagement.
