India has welcomed the assurance of United Nations Security Council, UNSC, that it will take up the issue of Mumbai terror attack mastermind Zaki-ur Rehman Lakhvi at its next meeting.
Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju said that international community is united in the fight against terror and any act by Pakistan to defy the spirit will be condemned by all. He said that New Delhi has sent clear message to Islamabad that it is not happy with the way Lakhvi case is being handled. Mr. Rijiju said the Pakistani government did not produce the facts against the Lakhvi in the court properly which led to his release from jail.
Earlier, a committee of the UNSC has assured India that it will take up the issue of Zaki-ur Rehman Lakhvi at its next meeting. India had expressed concern that Lakhvi’s release from a Pakistani jail violates the provisions of the United Nations.
