Home Minister Rajnath Singh has reiterated India’s committment for better relations with Pakistan and China. Addressing jawans of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) at Samba in Jammu and Kashmir today, the Home Minister said India has always been a peaceful neighbour willing to maintain good relations with all its neighbouring countries.

Mr. Singh said India have always extended a hand of friendship and Pakistan should reciprocate and take steps to improve the relationship.

He also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has clearly conveyed to China that resolving all outstanding issues, including border disputes, is key to bilateral ties.

Mr. Singh said that ITBP has been guarding 3,488 km-long Indo-China border which is one of the most inhospitable and difficult borders.

He said that the Home Ministry is working on issues of road and telecom connectivity on Indo-China border.

Applauding the ITBP jawans, for carrying out rescue operations during natural calamities in Himalyan region, he said that they are not only the Himveers (the warriors of snow) but also Himalyaputras (sons of the Himalaya).

Mr. Singh inaugurated the newly-constructed building of the camp of the 47th battalion of ITBP at Samba.

Home Minister also lauded the ITBP jawans in defending the Indian consulate in Herat, Afghanistan, during the terrorist attack last year.
