India has received a proposal from Pakistan over consular access to Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar told media that the proposal is being evaluated in the light of the judgment of International Court of Justice.

He said India will maintain communication with Pakistan in this matter through diplomatic channels.

On reports of arrest of an alleged Indian spy by Pakistan authorities from Rakhi Gaj in Pakistan, the MEA spokesperson said that these are unverified reports and they have not heard from the Pakistani side on this.

On US military sales to Pakistan, the spokesperson said India has taken up the matter with the US Ambassador in Delhi, as well as with the US Government in Washington through the Indian Ambassador. New Delhi has expressed grave concern over US military assistance to Pakistan.

Mr Kumar said the US side has told that the proposed sale does not indicate any change in the US policy of maintaining a freeze in military assistance to Pakistan.

He said US has publicly stated that the proposed sale is intended to enable the US to continue technical and logistics support services to assist in the oversight of the operations of F-16 aircraft in Pakistan’s inventory.

Replying to a query on reports of arrest of former Maldives Vice President Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Ghafoor in India, Mr Kumar said there are designated entry points through which foreigners are allowed entry into the country.

The entry is facilitated on the basis of appropriate valid travel documents. The MEA spokesperson said since Mr Ghafoor was not entering India through a designated entry point and did not possess the valid document, he has not been permitted entry into India.
