According to official release the missile was test fired from the Launch Complex-III of the ITR at 8.10 AM. The 150 km range Prahaar is a single-stage missile and is fueled by solid propellants.

The uniqueness of the missile system is that in one salvo, six missiles can be fired with multiple targets. Prahar is capable of hitting both tactical and strategic targets. It is a road mobile system and can also be deployed in a few minutes time, without much preparation.

About 3,000 villagers from five villages near the ITR were evacuated for the test-flight of Prahar as a precautionary measure.
