India and Romania have agreed to intensify cooperation at the United Nations and other multilateral fora in order to address global challenges.
This was stated in a joint statement issued after one to one talks between Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and President of Romania, Mr. Klaus Werner Lohannis in Bucharest today.

In his statement, Mr. Naidu appreciated Romania for its support to India’s bid for permanent membership of United Nations Security Council.
He said, there is a need to fight the scourge of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and work together to eliminate the financing of terror and safe havens for terrorists and their sponsors.
