India has raised the basic customs duty to 200 per cent on all goods imported from Pakistan with immediate effect following the Pulwama terror attack.

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said this in a tweet yesterday. India on Friday withdrew the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status to Pakistan in the aftermath of the terror attack.

Increasing duties will significantly hit Pakistan’s exports to India, which stood around 3,482 crore rupees in 2017-18. The main items which Pakistan exports to India include fresh fruits, cement, petroleum products, bulk minerals and ores and finished leather.
