Troops guarding border of India and Pakistan exchanged sweets on the occasion of Eid Ul Zuha, today, at Attari-Wagah Joint Check Post. DIG, BSF, Amritsar, M F Farooqui exchanged the sweets with Wing Commander Pakistan Rangers, Lt Col Bilal. The exchange of sweet comes after the recently held DG level bi-annual meeting between BSF and Pakistan Rangers on various issues.

Earlier, on two occasions there was no exchange of sweets between the two forces. India had not exchanged sweets and greetings on Eid in July, this year due to repeated ceasefire violations from across the border in Jammu and Kashmir.

BSF again decided not to exchange pleasantries with the Rangers on the Independence Days of both the neighbouring countries in August in the back drop of terror attack in Punjab’s border district Gurdaspur.
