india-pakThe cross-border trade between India and Pakistan along Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir remained suspended for the second week on Tuesday after a constant exchange of fire between soldier of two countries.

Last week, the trade between both the economies was suspended as a precautionary measure amid a heavy exchange of fire and shelling.

Due to the tense situation, a long queue of trucks, packed with goods and commodities, formed near the check-post on the Indian side of the border as the drivers waited helplessly.

Poonch’s Cross Loc Trade Centre Chakan Da Bagh custodian Tanveer Ahmed said suspension of trade is affecting business and losses are mounting for traders.

The Pakistan army violated the ceasefire and fired mortar shells in four sectors in the Rajouri and Poonch districts, prompting the Indian Army to retaliate. In Nowshera sector, Pak troops targeted civilian areas. The security forces rescued 217 students from three schools of Naushera, who were trapped under heavy shelling from Pakistan.

In last few days, the ceasefire violations by the Pakistan has continued along the LoC as well as infiltration bids too continued from the side of Pakistan. However, the army is giving an appropriate reply by retaliating strongly.
