ASTANA (AMN) India and Kazakhstan today signed five agreements in the field of  defence, railways, uranium supply, sports & transfer of sentenced prisoners. The agreements were signed after delegation level talks between the two countries led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Kazakh President Nur Sultan Nazar Bayev here. Earlier, today Prime Minister Narendra Modi,  held bilateral meeting with Kazak president Nur Sultan Nazar Bayev and discussed bilateral, regional and international issues.

Both the leaders exchanged gifts with each other. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his address that the way in which a small country with a small population like Kazakhstan is progressing is appreciable. The Prime Minister today presented President Nursultan Nazarbayev a set of books relating to religions born in India including an English translation of Guru Granth Sahib and Valmiki’s Ramayana in nastaliq script.
