The Government of India and the German Development Bank today signed agreements for 140 million Euro reduced interest loan and 2 million Euro grant for Energy Reform Programme in Madhya Pradesh.
Rajat Kumar Mishra, Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs in the Finance Ministry signed the agreements on behalf of Government. Dr. Juergen Welschof, Head of Division, Energy, South Asia signed for German Development Bank.
The project comprises two components. These are implementation of smart meters and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and, separation of agriculture and non-agriculture feeders.
The Project will contribute to a more stable, secure and climate and environmentally friendly energy supply in India by upgrading and strengthening distribution networks in Madhya Pradesh.
