PM Modi meets French Prez Macron

India and France have decided to work together to fight against terrorism and climate change. Addressing a joint press conference with France President Emmanuel Macron in Paris this evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, terrorism and climate change are big challenges before the world.

Mr Modi said, Paris accord on climate change is an article of faith for India. He said, the Paris agreement reflects the duty towards protecting the Earth and the natural resources. He said, Paris agreement is a shared legacy of the world and it will benefit the future generations as well. He said, India is committed to save nature and Mother Earth for the future generations.

The Prime Minister appreciated the positivity of French President towards the International Solar alliance. Mr Modi also praised the leadership of France at various forums in Europe and across the world. He said, India wants to improve cultural relations between the two countries. He said, several Indians fought in the first two world wars for world peace.

Mr Modi said, be it trade and technology, innovation, and investments, energy, education and enterprise, India wants to give boost to India- France ties. Mr Modi said, New Delhi and Paris enjoy deep rooted ties. He said, the two sides have been working together for a very long time bilaterally, and multilaterally.

In his press statement, French President Emmanuel Macron said, France will continue to work with India in the field of maritime security, defence and counter terrorism. He said, France will always stand by India to fight terrorism. He said, France will promote Make in India initiative.

Earlier, both leaders had one to one meeting at Elysee palace.The Prime Minister since left Paris for New Delhi after successfully completing his 4-nation European tour of Germany, Spain, Russia and France.
