India extends medical assistance to swine flu-hit Myanmar

India has sent a consignment of emergency medical assistance to help the health authorities in Myanmar to deal with and contain the H1N1 outbreak.

The assistance comprises of vaccine doses, diagnostic kits, Tamiflu syrup and tablets along with specialised face masks, arrived at Yangon International Airport on Wednesday. The consignment was immediately handed over to the Myanmar health authorities.

The government of India stands ready to extend further assistance as required to the Myanmar government in order to deal with this issue, the Indian Embassy in Myanmar said.
