India today dispatched a consignment of 10 Bailey Bridges to Sri Lanka to assist in the restoration of critical connectivity following the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditwah.

In a social media post, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that the consignment was dispatched from Visakhapatnam to Colombo on board INS Gharial. He added that the supply is a part of India’s Special Economic Package of 450 million US Dollars announced as part of Operation Sagar Bandhu. Mr Jaiswal said that India continues to stand with Sri Lanka to support reconstruction efforts after Cyclone Ditwah.
