India beat New Zealand by 7 runs in the fifth and final T-20 International at Mount Maunganui today and completed a historic series whitewash.

Electing to bat, India posted 163 for three. Rohit Sharma scored 60 off 41 balls before walking off the field due to some discomfort in his calf.
This was Rohit Sharma’s 21st T-20  half-century and he surpassed Virat Kohli’s record of half-centuries in T-20 Internationals. K L Rahul posted a 33 ball 45.

The visitors then restricted the hosts to 156 for nine with Jasprit Bumrah claiming three wickets for 12 runs. India will next play a three-match One-Day International series against New Zealand with the first match slated at Hamilton on Wednesday.
