High Commissioner of India to Cyprus Manish has called President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia. The Indian Embassy in Cyprus said in a social media post that both the leaders reviewed preparations for the upcoming visit of the Cypriot President to India in May this year.
It said the leaders discussed the key deliverables under the India-Cyprus Joint Action Plan, with particular emphasis on deepening cooperation in trade, investment, innovation and connectivity, building on the momentum generated during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Cyprus in June last year.
The Embassy noted that both sides further discussed progress in other priority sectors such as defence and security, renewable energy, digital transformation, fintech, and maritime cooperation, while also emphasising the importance of strengthening people-to-people linkages through academic and cultural initiatives. The Embassy added that both sides also exchanged views on enhancing coordination in multilateral fora, including European Union.
