Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju has said both India and Afghanistan are “victims” of terrorism emanating from Pakistan and pointedly maintained that Indian armed forces never open fire first on their own.
“Indian Forces never do unprovoked firing. India and Afghanistan believe in peace despite both are victims of terrorism emanating from Pak,” Mr Rijiju said in a tweet. The message from the Minister came close on the heels of Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif’s statement that India and Afghanistan have “joined hands” to create unrest in Pakistan.
Mr Asif had also charged, according to media reports that, there had been a constant rise in India’s alleged unprovoked firing and violation of the ceasefire agreement along the Line of Control. Afghanistan National Security Adviser Mohd Hanif Atmar told an international conference here yesterday that there should a coordinated global efforts to end “state sponsorship of terrorism”. The remark can be termed as a veiled attack on Pakistan
