India and Afghanistan today held discussion to strengthen strategic partnership. The Chief Executive of Afghanistan Dr. Abdullah Abdullah held wide ranging discussions with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj in New Delhi.
He also called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence this evening.
The visiting dignitary is scheduled to meet President Ram Nath Kovind. Dr Abdullah arrived in New Delhi today.
The visit follows the recently concluded second meeting of the Strategic Partnership Council which was co-chaired by the External Affairs Minister of India and the Foreign Minister of Afghanistan where both sides ushered in next generation New Development Partnership.
India and Afghanistan enjoy deep rooted civilisational links and it has been partnering with the Government and the people of Afghanistan in their efforts to build a stable, peaceful, prosperous, united and pluralistic country.
