India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 155.28 crore mark on Thursday. Out of the total vaccination, more than 90.11 crore Vaccine doses were administered as first dose while 64.84 crore doses given as second dose. Union Health Ministry said, more than 33.12 lakh Precaution Doses for the identified categories of beneficiaries for COVID vaccination have been administered so far. Over 3.12 crore vaccine doses have been given to Children aged 15 to 18 years so far. The Ministry also said, more than 63 lakh Vaccine Doses have been administered till 7 PM today.
Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya has said, it is a new achievement for India in the new year as the country has administered more than 155 crore COVID19 vaccine doses in less than a year. In a tweet, he congratulated the team India for this achievement. Dr Mandaviya also appealed to the people to keep up this momentum and get vaccinated if they have not received it.
In an another tweet, the Health Minister said that great sense of responsibility and enthusiasm is being seen among Young India. He informed that over three crore youngsters between the 15 to 18 year age group have received the first dose of COVID19 vaccine. He appealed to all the eligible young friends to get vaccinated at the earliest.
The vaccination exercise as a tool to protect the most vulnerable population groups in the country from COVID-19 continues to be regularly reviewed and monitored at the highest level.
