Interrogation of former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi and her son Tejaswi Prasad Yadav, former Deputy Chief Minister, by Income Tax department, in connection with their disproportionate assets, was completed last evening.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Mr Yadav reached Patna office of Income Tax department about 1030 hours while Ms Rabri Devi along with her daughter and Rajya Sabha MP Misa Bharti arrived at 1400 hours. Mr Yadav and Ms Rabri were quizzed on the basis of questionnaire specially prepared for them on the basis of findings during the investigation.
A senior RJD leader claimed that Ms Misa Bharti was with her mother for assistance and she was not summoned by Income Tax department. She and her husband Shailesh Kumar had already been interrogated several times by Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax department in connection with disproportionate assets.
Mr Yadav and Ms Rabri Devi did not talk to media persons waiting outside Income Tax office for their reactions. Despite best efforts to seek their comments, both the leaders remained tight lipped. RJD chief Mr Prasad got first hand information from Ms Rabri Devi and Mr Yadav about their interrogation by sleuths of Income Tax Department and then held a meeting with senior party leaders who had arrived at his residence soon after they learnt about interrogation.
