Incessant rain in the last 72 hours in most parts of Madhya Pradesh has led to flooding with several rivers in spate and crossing the danger mark.
Many state highways and culverts and villages were inundated.
Bhopal recorded about 120 Millimeter of rain in the last 24 hours making it rain surplus, while Indore received about 10-millimetre rain. The Bhopal-Betul highway is closed due to flooding.
Traffic movement between the state capital and Nagpur has also badly hit. Meanwhile, Sheopur district was disconnected from the neighbouring Shivpuri district and the Kota and Sawai Madhopur districts of Rajasthan due to heavy rainfall.
Similarly, in Shajapur district, many villages were submerged.
The NDRF team from Bhopal was rushed to the spot and villagers trapped in the flood were rescued. The weather department said that the rain will continue for some more days.
