air-chief-dhanoaIndian Air Force IAF Chief B S Dhanoa has said acquisition of Rafale aircraft will enhance capabilities of the Indian Air Force. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi ahead of Air Force Day, Air Chief Marshal Dhanoa said, air force is fully committed for ingenious manufacturing of aircrafts and radars in the line of Prime Minister’s Make in India initiative.

He said, air force is prepared to fight at a short notice and is capable to carry out any operations. Air Chief Marshal informed that three trainee women fighter pilots will be inducted in December this year. He said, IAF will deploy 9 Hawk AJTs as part of Surya Kiran display team and 1 Netra AEW&C aircraft during flypast on 8th of this month.

4 Jaguars, four Mig-21 Bisons and 1 Tejas 4 MIG 29s, 9 Sukhoi-30 MKIs will also roar during the flypast on IAF day. Vintage aircraft Tiger Moth and Harvard will be show stealer at the parade which will be held at Hindon Airbase.

He said the force need 42 squadrons to carry out full spectrum of operations in case of “two-front war”. “With numbers we’ve got,we are capable of carrying it out.”

On China, the Air Chief Marshal said, “Their (China) forces in Chumbi Valley are still deployed & I expect that they withdraw as summer exercise gets over.”

“Our losses during peace time are cause of concern. We are making concentrated efforts to minimize accidents& preserve our assets,” he added.
