76 million US dolllars is needed immediately

The worst ever locust outbreak that parts of East Africa in recent times has reached South Sudan. In South Sudan, roughly half of the population is already facing hunger after years of civil war.
Agriculture Minister Onyoti Adigo told media that around two thousand locusts were spotted inside the country. He said, authorities will try to control the outbreak.
The locusts have been seen in Eastern Equatoria state near the borders with Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda. Locusts also have reached Sudan, Eritrea, Tanzania and more recently Uganda.
UN has said, an amount of 76 million US dolllars is needed immediately. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo during a visit to Ethiopia said the US would donate another 8 million dollars to the effort.
