Terror is the biggest enemy of humankind and everyone needs to fight against it together, says Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Counter-Terrorism Conference organised by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) here today. On the occasion, Mr Shah honoured nine NIA personnel with the Sewa Padak and Veerta Padak for their commendable Service and contribution to counter-terror measures. The Minister also unveiled NIA’s Updated Crime Manual, Organised Crime Network Database and Lost and Recovered Weapon Database.
In a social media post, Mr. Shah underlined that terror is the biggest enemy of humankind and everyone needs to fight against it together. He said that the Narendra Modi government is ruthlessly curbing terror in the country. He added that the conference, known as the country’s thought machine, pools the strategies of all the agencies to devise the most effective operational plan to end terror.
The key focus of the conference is on developing synergies among various stakeholders by establishing formal and informal channels for coordinated action against the menace of terrorism in the spirit of the ‘Whole of Government approach’.
The conference is a meeting point for operational forces, technical, legal, and forensic experts, and agencies engaged in counter terrorism for deliberations on issues impacting national security and threats emerging out of terrorism. The deliberations and discussions in the two-day conference aim to share experiences and good practices across law enforcement agencies in addressing counter-terrorism issues and lessons from terror investigations.
The conference is being attended by senior police officers from States and Union Territories, officers from Central agencies and Departments dealing with issues related to Counter Terrorism and experts from related fields such as law, forensics, technology, among others.
