India pays homage to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar

Nation pays homage to Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar on his 64th Mahaparinirvan Diwas or death anniversary today. A number of functions are being organised all over the country to highlight the contribution of Dr Ambedkar in the nation building.

Eminent dignitaries and Parliamentarians will offer tributes to the architect of the Constitution at his statue in the Parliament House complex in New Delhi.

President Ram Nath Kovind has paid rich tributes to Babasaheb B R Ambedkar on the occasion of his Mahaparinirvana Day. He said, Dr. Ambedkar was a great architect of our constitution, who strived for a society and governance based on the tenets of equality and justice. President Kovind said, Dr. Ambedkar’s thought guided the law and order, finance and the overall development of the country.

He also urged every citizen to pledge to realize the ideals of economic and social justice, equality of opportunity and fraternity, following the constitutionally agreed paths as suggested by Dr. Ambedkar.

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu paid floral tributes to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on his Mahaparinirvan Diwas today at a brief function in the Raj Bhavan in Chennai. He, along with the Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit showered flower petals on Dr Ambedkar’s portrait.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar on his Mahaparinirvan Diwas. In a tweet, Mr Modi said, Babasaheb’s thoughts and ideals continue to give strength to millions. The Prime Minister said, we are committed to fulfilling the dreams he had for the nation.

Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on his Mahaparinirvan Diwas. In a tweet, Mr Shah said, following in the footsteps of Babasaheb, the Modi government is working with dedication for the welfare of the section that remained deprived for decades.

Along with the rest of the country, followers of Dr. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar are paying heartfelt tributes on his 64th death anniversary called Mahaparinirvan Diwas.

Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, NCP president, Sharad Pawar and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis paid tributes by visiting Chaityabhoomi at Dadar, Mumbai where Dr. Ambedkar was laid to rest.

In Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid homage to Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar in a program at Lucknow today. Mr Yogi along with others garlanded the statue of Babasaheb.

UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said that Baba Saheb laid the foundation of improving the standard of living of the poor, backward and deprived which is being accomplished under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi .

Several programmes at different places are being organised to pay tribute to Baba Saheb on his Maha Parinirvan Diwas.
