Indian women’s hockey team put up a spirited fight before losing 2-3 to Spain in their opening game of the tour to Spain.
India was leading the first quarter 1-Nil before Spain scored an equalizer in the 23rd minute through Maria Tost.
Spain struck two goals in the third quarter to take 3-1 lead. Dragflicker Gurjit Kaur’s success in 48th minute changed the score to 2-3.
The following minutes were evenly fought by both teams but Spain ensured they upped their defence to deny India an equaliser.
