In view of the increasing COVID-19 cases, the Himachal Pradesh Government is exploring the possibilities of home isolation system for asymptomatic COVID-19 patients who have adequate facilities at their residence. The State Government is laying emphasis on contact tracing of COVID-19 patients to check further infection.

Chief Minister Jairam Thakur has directed the Deputy Commissioners to evolve a mechanism to keep asymptomatic persons who are willing to remain in home isolation if they are having adequate space at residence to isolate them from other family members. Mr Thakur instructed Deputy Commissioners to ensure that food is served in the COVID care centres must be hygienic and served properly.

He directed the District Administration to regularly visit these centers to ensure proper facilities being provided to patients. It may be recalled that the state has witnessed a steep rise in COVID-19 patients in the last few days. Meanwhile, COVID cases in the state are continuously increasing and the total number has increased to 3,816. Of these, one thousand three hundred twenty-eight active patients are being treated at various COVID Care Centres. The maximum number of 376 active cases has been reported from Solan district, followed by Chamba. So far, 17 people in the state have lost their lives due to this epidemic.
