High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, Gopal Baglay and Sri Lanka’s Education Minister Dr. Susil Premajayantha dispatched a consignment of textbooks printed with Indian support at State Printing Corporation in Colombo yesterday.

The printing of textbooks has been carried out under the ongoing 1 billion dollar credit facility extended to Sri Lanka. Over 10 million dollars were utilised by state printing corporation and private importers to procure printing paper and material from India.

The Sri Lankan Minister appreciated timely assistance for enabling import of printing paper for textbooks required by 40 lakh students under the Indian credit line.

The High Commissioner stressed that India’s support will contribute to bright future of Sri Lanka’s young students.
