Head of Israel’s military intelligence, Major General Aharon Haliva, has resigned over the failures leading to the October 7 Hamas militant attack that triggered months of war. Mr. Haliva said the intelligence directorate under his command did not live up to the task they were entrusted with. Major Haliva is the first top Israeli official to step down for failing to prevent the Hamas attack which brought intense scrutiny to Israel’s government and military.
