Haryana Government has fixed the charges for treatment of COVID-19 patients in the private hospitals. The private hospitals would charge maximum Rs 18,000 per day from the COVID-19 patient.
Giving this information Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said, this step has been taken in view of the complaints received from the public that the private hospitals are overcharging the affected people in the name of treatment.
He said, different charges are fixed for those private hospitals which are accredited with the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and those which are not accredited with the NABH. He said that these charges will vary from Rs 8,000 to Rs 18,000 per day.
Mr Vij said that action will be taken against those hospitals, which will charge more than the charges fixed for them according to NABH and non-NABH categories.
402 people test positive for COVID-19 in Haryana today
402 people today tested positive for COVID-19 while 445 patients have been discharged from various hospitals after recovery in Haryana.
Five people died due to the virus infection taking the death toll to 223 in the state so far. According to the Haryana Health Department, the total number of affected people in the state so far has reached 13,829 and number of cured patients has risen to 8,917.
The recovery rate in Haryana has reached 64.48 per cent. Now 4,689 COVID patients are under treatment in the state.
