Terming the upcoming Assembly polls “a turning point” for the country, the Congress on Wednesday said it will prove to be an alarm bell for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bhartiya Janata Party before the 2019 parliamentary polls.
Jointly briefing media here on Wednesday, party’s Gujarat affairs in-charge Ashok Gahlot and Gujarat State Congress President Bharat Singh Solanki alleged that the government influenced the Election Commission to delay announcement of poll dates in the state.
“The government and the BJP bought time for announcing schemes before the polls in the state,” the leaders said.
