Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said, his government is eliminating inequality, reaching every poor and ensuring 100 percent saturation. Inaugurating and laying foundation stone of various projects in Gandhinagar today, Mr Modi said.

India’s development is a conviction and commitment for his Government.

He said, despite having the various Awas Yojnas for decades, 75 percent of the population lacked access to proper toilets. The Prime Minister said, we must understand that a home is more than just a shelter it is a place of faith where dreams are realized and new possibilities are born. He said, his government does not look at religion or caste while delivering benefits and this is real secularism. Mr Modi said his government made the house a strong base for war against poverty, a tool of empowerment and dignity of the poor.

Mr Modi said, after 2014, Government did not limit the house of the poor only to a concrete roof but made the house a solid foundation for fight against poverty and a medium of empowerment of the poor. He said, in the last nine years, around four crore homes have been provided to the poor. The Prime Minister said, nearly 70 percent of these homes are under the names of women, turning the mothers and daughters into Lakhpati Didi. He said, when the poor is less worried about the basic needs of their life then their confidence increases. Mr Modi said, Government is giving equal emphasis on both Ease of Living and Quality of Life in Urban Planning.

During the programme in Gandhinagar, he inaugurated and lay the foundation stone of development projects worth over 2450 crore rupees. These include projects of Urban Development Department, Water Supply Department, Road and Transport Department, and Mines and Minerals Department.

The projects inaugurated include augmentation of multi-village drinking water supply schemes in Banaskantha district, a river overbridge in Ahmedabad, a drainage collection network at Naroda GIDC, sewage treatment plants in Mehsana and Ahmedabad, auditorium in Dahegam, among others. The projects whose foundation stones were laid include bulk pipeline projects in Junagadh district, augmentation of water supply schemes in Gandhinagar district, construction of flyover bridges, new water distribution stations, and various town planning roads, among others.

The Prime Minister, laid the foundation stone and dedicated to the nation, projects worth around 4400 crores rupees. The projects include laying the foundation stone and inaugurating development projects worth over 2450 crores rupees such as Urban Development Department, Water Supply Department, Road and Transport Department, and Mines and Minerals Department. The Prime Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of PMAY (rural and urban) projects worth around 1950 crores rupees and participated in Gruh Pravesh of around 19,000 houses built under the scheme by handing over keys to beneficiaries of the scheme during the program. He also interacted with the beneficiaries via video links.
