Gujarat Government has announced a relief package 3,795 crore rupees for farmers who suffered crop loss due to unseasonal rains.

Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel made the announcement at a press conference in Ahmedabad this afternoon. He said the relief package will help more than 56 lakh farmers across the state.

Mr. Patel said out of the total package, 1,641 crore rupees will be given through a budgetary provision and 2,145 crore under the State Disaster Response Fund. He said farmers will get assistance in the range of 4,000 rupees to 13,000 rupees. He said the amount will be directly deposited to bank accounts of farmers through RTGS. 

This relief package is in addition to 700 crore rupees announced by the state government earlier.
