Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has Condemned the recent attacks on the migrants from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh living in the state.
The Chief Minister has assured adequate security and full protection to them. Speaking with media persons at Rajkot today, Mr. Rupani said that miscreants indulging in attacks have been arrested within hours. He said that it has been the characteristic and tradition of Gujarat and the Gujaratis to consider people from other states as their own.
He said that people of all states are living together in peace and in an atmosphere of harmony and bonhomie in Gujarat. He appealed to the people of Gujarat to maintain peace and harmony in the state.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Home Pradip Sinh Jadeja has said that government will not hesitate to take stern action against miscreants indulging in violence. He said that total 431 persons have been detained and 56 cases have been registered against them.
Mr. Jadeja said that 17 companies of State Reserve Police Force have been deployed to maintain law and order situation in the state along with police. He said that Chief Secretary and DGP of the state are constantly in touch with all district collectors to monitor the situation.
Meanwhile Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Monday spoke to his Gujarat counterpart Vijay Rupani and expressed his concern about the violent attacks at non-Gujaratis, including those from Bihar, by mobs seemingly angry over the rape of a minor earlier this week. UP CM Adityanath also spoke to Rupani over the cases of violence. Rupani assured his counterparts of providing security and denied movement of migrants back to their home states.
