School bus conductor arrested

The Gruesome murder of a seven-year-old boy at a private school in Gurgaon has send shock waves in entire NCR region.The incident created outrage amongst the locals and a huge crowd gathered outside the school protesting against the boy’s murder and vandalised some school property.

Late Friday night, Gurgaon Police said that they arrested a bus conductor, identified as Ashok Kumar, employed by Ryan International School. Police officials said that the killer attempted to sexually abuse the boy before murdering him.

Ashok, the conductor, confessed to murdering the child. Ashok said that he killed the boy after the 7-year-old resisted his attempts to sexually abuse him.

According to the police, Ashok had gone to the washroom to wash his knife. There, the bus conductor saw the 7-year-old and attempted to sexually abuse him. However, the child started screaming, following which Ashok killed him.

Parents of other students of the school also gathered outside the school questioning the negligent attitude of the school administration that led to such an incident.

Pradyuman Thakur, a 2nd standard student of Ryan International School Bhondsi, was found lying in a pool of blood this morning with his throat slit in one of the school’s toilets.

Gurugram Police Commissioner told media that one person has been arrested in connection with the incident.

He is bus conductor Ashok Kumar, who has been working in the school for the past eight months.

The child was immediately rushed to the Artemis hospital Gurugram, where he was declared dead on arrival by the doctors.

”I don’t know what exactly happened. As soon as we came to know about the child, we rushed him to the hospital,” said Neerja Batra, caretaker of the school.

The body bore cut marks at various places, while a knife was also recovered from the spot which is said to be the weapon used to slash his throat.

The incident came to notice around 0815 hrs when the school authorities were informed by an employee.

The school administration soon informed the police as well as the child’s parents about the terrible incident and the police rushed to the spot.

A forensic team was also sent to the crime sight by the Gurugram police to closely investigate the matter.

There were around 30 CCTV cameras installed in the school premises and the police was going through the footage to gather clues regarding the suspects.

“At present, we have no lead on the murder. We are scanning CCTV footage from the school premises for clues,” Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Manish Sehgal, posted at Gurugram Police Commissioner’s office said.

Thakur’s parents were initially in a state of shock and were silent, who later alleged that it was sheer negligence on the part of school administration.

”It is a clear case of murder, don’t know what happened but I am sure its murder,” victim’s father Varun Thakur said.

He said that he got a call from the school and was informed that his son was bleeding and was taken to hospital, adding that he immediately rushed to the hospital, only to find his son dead.

The staff members and others people of Thakur’s school were also questioned by the police who stayed at Bhondsi.

An FIR has been lodged in this regard, while the police was questioning the school staff.

Further investigation was underway.

Angry wards of other students, on hearing the news, rushed to the school and damaged school property.
