Prime Minister Narendra Modi today assured the people of UP, Uttrakhand, Manipur, Goa and Punjab that BJP will leave no stone unturned for their betterment. Addressing party workers at BJP headquarters in New Delhi, Mr Modi said in a democracy, poll results are public mandate and the government is formed by majority but it runs by acceptance of all. He also assured that the new governments will work for all without any discrimination.
The Prime Minister said he sees the polls results as foundation of new India in which 65 percent people are of below 35 years of age. Mr. Modi said in the new India which he is seeing the poor want opportunities and not favours. He said it is easy to win over people by raising emotional issues but now people have turned out in large numbers to cast vote on the issue of development.
Mr. Modi said the BJP should be humbled by the massive victory margin, and use this as an opportunity to serve the people. The Prime Minister said the BJP will not do any work with the wrong intentions and will do all the work with full accountability.
He said the BJP government is for those who voted for it and also for those who did not.The Prime Minister also greeted the people on the occasion of Holi.
BJP President Amit Shah said the mandate given by the people in these elections is two step ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha election mandate. He said due to demonetisation, poor fully backed Mr. Modi and BJP’s win in UP has proven the Prime Minister’s pro-poor stance. He said it is a huge appreciation of what Narendra Modi has done in the last two and half years.
Earlier, the Prime Minister reached walked a distance to reach the party headquarters waving at the crowd. Mr Modi garlanded the statue of party ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhyay inside the party office premises.
Mr. Modi also attended BJP Parliamentary Board meeting to discuss the possible names for the Chief Ministership in the states where it has got the majority. BJP President Amit Shah, Union Minister Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley, Venkaiah Naidu and other leaders also attended the meet.
The party has secured three-fourth majority in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand assembly polls.
