Union Minister for Health J P Nadda Monday announced that government will launch ‘world’s largest healthcare scheme’ called Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana on September 25th. Addressing media, Nadda said, 29 states and UTs have signed an MoU so far towards the implementation of the scheme.

Mr Nadda said, no enrollment is required for the beneficiaries of the scheme. Mr Nadda said, 10.74 crore poor and vulnerable families are entitled as per Socio Economic Caste Census and there is no cap on family size or age.

He said, under it, a health insurance cover of five lakh rupees per family will be provided for treatment at empaneled hospitals and all government hospitals are deemed to be empaneled. He said, the benefits of the scheme will be portable across the country. He said, the package rate of over 1300 services has been identified.

Mr Nadda also warned that strict action will be taken against those running the fake websites on Ayushman Bharat. He clarified that no enrolment is required for beneficiaries and there is no payment for obtaining services at empaneled hospitals.

He said, the government will take action against fraudulent websites and agents trying to collect money from beneficiaries. He also informed that the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna Call Centre -14555 will also become operational from 5th of next month.

On the occasion, the Health Minister also unveiled the Logo of the scheme. Anti- Fraud Guidelines to check any fraud related to the scheme and Data Privacy and Information Security Policy were also launched.
