Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has said the Government is taking steps for the welfare of Tribals. Mr Naidu said, there should be no discrimination on the basis of caste, creed and religion. Mr Naidu was delivering the Foundation Day Lecture ‘Constitution and Tribes’, on the occasion of 15th Foundation Day Celebrations of National Commission for Scheduled Tribes, in New Delhi today.

The Vice President said, there is a need to preserve the country’s rich cultural heritage. Mr Naidu said, peace is the pre-requisite for the nation’s development, and stressed on unity in the country.

Remembering former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Mr Naidu said, he worked to connect India and took everyone onboard. He said Atal Bihari Vajpayee will always be remembered as a person who united India.

Mr Naidu said India is a developing at a rapid pace and many key reforms have taken place in the country recently to boost economic growth. He said everyone must become part of India’s growth story.
