Government has set a coal production target of over one thousand million tonnes in 2024-25. Union Coal Ministry said, as of 19th July, the coal production has reached over 294 million tonnes, reflecting a robust growth rate of around 11 per cent compared to the same period last year.
It said, this positive trend underscores the Ministry’s commitment to meeting the energy demands of various sectors while maintaining a focus on sustainable economic development. The Ministry said, government is committed to ensure an adequate supply of coal at notified prices for the Power and Fertilizer sectors.
