NEW DELHI: (AMN) The Government has offered to convene a special session of Parliament to discuss about formation a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to probe the 2G spectrum allocation issue.
Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday made the offer to the Opposition for a special Parliament session to debate on the demand for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) in the 2G spectrum scam.

At the CNN IBN, Indian of the year award function, Mukherjee said that the Government is ready to hold a special Parliament session if Opposition agrees to debate the JPC demand on the floor of the house.

Pranab Mukherjee made the offer after the BJP said they would cooperate in the budget session if the government agrees to a JPC.

However BJP President Nitin Gadkari has rejected the offer, saying there would no compromise on the opposition’s demand for a Joint Parliamentary committee probe into the scam. He said that it was  the duty of the Opposition party to take the issue of national interest.
