Janata Dal (United) chief Sharad Yadav has said a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sonia Gandhi and Dr Manmohan Singh this evening is a good step to bring consensus on Goods and Services Tax bill. He said, government has come forward for the discussion with the opposition, which is a welcome step.

Replying to a query on the outcry on intolerance, Mr Yadav told reporters outside Parliament that his party will put forward its views in the Rajya Sabha. Mr Yadav said, the Constitutional values need to be preserved in the country.

When asked about Bihar government’s decision to impose ban on sale of liquor from April next year, the JD(U) chief said, the decision will save thousands of youth. Asked that the state government will face the revenue loss because of the decision, Mr Yadav said, the youth force is more important for the state and not the sale of liquor.
