The Cabinet today gave its nod to import of 5000 tonnes of Tur Dal and 5000 tonnes of Urad Dal by MMTC for retail distribution to consumers by 5th of this month.
The Govt today cleared reimbursement of Rs 113 crore of losses on pulses imported between 2006 to 2011 by National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Limited, NAFED, PEC, STC and MMTC.
This will enable the Central Public Sector Undertakings to be financially sound to intensify trading activities to cool down prices of essential commodities.
