The Centre today defended CBI investigation and raids against RJD chief Lalu Prasad saying that the law was taking its own course in the matter.
“The investigative agency is doing its duty and law is taking its own course,” Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting M Venkaiah Naidu told reporters here.
He said the Central Government or party has no role to play in this. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today booked Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Lalu Prasad, his wife and son Tejaswi Yadav over alleged corruption, related to the tenders of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) hotels.
The alleged corruption charges are said to be rooted in Lalu Prasad’s tenure as Union Railway Minister during 2006, the CBI sources said.
