The authorities today blocked the websites of controversial preacher Zakir Naik’s NGO Islamic Research Foundation, IRF for spreading objectionable contents, speeches and videos.
This came two days after the National Investigation Agency, NIA raided the premises of Naik. According to sources, the NIA will also raise the issue of suspension of videos on YouTube and Facebook pages with the US since the servers are located there.
NIA had registered case against Naik and others in Mumbai after seizure of incriminating documents and cash.
The Government had recently banned Zakir Naik’s IRF for five years terming it illegal. The ban was enforced under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
